Dear Brothers/Sisters in Islam,

Assalamualaikkum,

The above fund is an educational project which was initiated in January 2013 by the Rifai Thareeq Association of Sri Lanka. The purpose of this fund is to enhance the standard of education amongst underprivileged girls in Sri Lanka.

The parents of these girls are eligible to receive zakath and they are not in a position to send their children to private classes. Providing education is the highest help we can provide to underprivileged people in order to help upgrade their skills and knowledge and thereafter find suitable employment.

Our aim is guide these students to successfully complete the Sri Lankan G.C.E. Ordinary Level exam and then the G.C.E Advanced Level exam and to enter university, By the help of Almighty Allah and your generous contribution we were able to provide assistance to university students and other higher education students. Also we were able to provide assistance to a disable person to follow a course in repairing electrical appliances.

Insha Allah after this Ramazan with the above projects we are planning to help poor women to get vocational Training courses in Cookery, Dress Making, Curtain Stitching etc enable them get to self employed.

At present, the fund is solely used to cover the teachers' salaries. Money from the fund is first allocated to the students as zakath. The students then use it to remunerate the teachers. All other expenses such as electricity, water, and management expenses are borne by the Rifai Thareeq Association. Our selection process ensures that we only select the students whose parents are genuinely eligible to receive zakath.

We make an earnest appeal to you to contribute a portion of your zakath/sadaqa to this worthy project which is also a sadaqathul jaariya insha Allah.
